Sabar

Pape Cissé tells: Sabar is both a well known instruments as well as a name for a dancing style. Sabar is played in religious ceremonies, like in weddings and name-giving ceremonies, where I have performed as a musician. I have played with many well-known Senegalese musicians, like Doudou N’digue Rose and with various Senegalese music gouprs in Senegal and in Europe. I teach playing sabar in Mama Afrcia’s workshops in Europe and Senegal.
